United Arab Emirates
UAE document attestation from Malaysia
For the UAE our work is the documentation. The visa itself is issued from the UAE side, usually by the employer, so what we handle is getting your documents accepted when they arrive.
Why the UAE is different
For most of our destinations we prepare and submit the visa application here in Kuala Lumpur. The UAE works the other way round: the employer or sponsor normally arranges the entry permit and visa from inside the UAE.
What still has to happen in Malaysia is the document side. A degree, a certificate of good conduct or a marriage certificate issued here has to carry the full legalisation chain before a UAE authority will accept it.
Neither Malaysia nor United Arab Emirates issues apostilles
The united arab emirates is not a contracting party to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, and neither is Malaysia. Neither side can issue or accept one.
That makes the position simple: a Malaysian document going to the United Arab Emirates carries consular legalisation, ending with a stamp from the United Arab Emirates mission. There is no shorter route to ask for.

The chain your documents follow
- 01
Issuing authority or notary public
The document is verified at source, or certified as a true copy by a notary public.
- 02
The relevant ministry
Education certificates go through the education authorities. Other documents go through the ministry that governs them.
- 03
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The consular division at Wisma Putra in Putrajaya legalises the document for use abroad.
- 04
The destination embassy
The embassy or consulate of the destination country adds the final stamp. Most sit in Kuala Lumpur, a few in Putrajaya.
Documents most often needed for the UAE
- Degree certificates and transcripts
- Letters of good conduct and police clearance
- Marriage and birth certificates, where dependants are involved
- Certified true copies where the original cannot be released
- Translation into English where the document is in another language
Checking a UAE job offer is genuine
We see documents for real offers every week, and we would rather you kept your money. None of the checks below cost anything, and a legitimate employer passes all of them.
- A real employer does not ask you to pay for a job offer, a visa or a medical. Those are the employer costs
- Ask for the company trade licence number in the UAE and check the name matches the offer letter
- An entry permit is issued by UAE authorities, not emailed as a PDF by a recruiter you have never met
- Be careful with offers arriving by WhatsApp or Telegram from a number with no company behind it
- If you are asked to send money to a personal bank account, stop
- If you are unsure, send us the paperwork. We will tell you what looks wrong, and we will not charge you to look

Questions
Do you process UAE visas?
For the UAE we handle the document attestation. The visa is normally issued from the UAE side by the employer or sponsor.
Can I use an apostille for the United Arab Emirates?
No. Neither United Arab Emirates nor Malaysia is a party to the Apostille Convention, so no apostille exists on either side. The document carries consular legalisation instead.
My UAE employer wants my degree attested. What does that mean?
It means the degree has to carry the full Malaysian legalisation chain, starting with a Ministry of Education endorsement, before a UAE authority will accept it.
Someone has asked me to pay for a UAE visa. Is that normal?
A legitimate employer covers the cost of the offer, the visa and the medical. Being asked to pay for them is a warning sign. Send us the paperwork and we will look at it for free.
